Whew. It's been a while since I blogged. Astute readers (if there are any readers) might notice that the site looks a little bit different. While the cosmetic changes are pretty minor, behind the scenes I've completely rewritten the software the powers the site using React and Gatsby. It did mean abandoning my homegrown static site generator that used the Django templating system, but that's probably for the best. Honestly, the fact that it still needed a fair amount of work to get it to what I felt like a complete state was making me procrastinate on blogging altogether.
So, now that that monkey is off my back, I'm free to blog again. Gatsby was a pretty fun and painless experience and I'm looking forward to making more sites with it.
I'm open sourcing the code behind the KotSF on Github so feel free to have a look. It's pretty specific to the configuration I have here but maybe there are some ideas in there people could use.
Now to start cleaning out that drafts folder.
